I think I will forgo shading for a while. >> It takes way too much time and makes things look messy anyway.

I find it awesome that this comic turns out to actually have life in it. Honestly, it seems all too often that I start to like something and then it turns out that the said something hasn't been around since '05-'06.

For me personally, I don't honestly mind comics without shading or color. One could have the most extravagantly created comic with more detail than one could ask for...but imagine only one page being done per year. I'd rather have more pages than more quality. Honestly, as my configuration settings (for many things) will say that I value speed more so than quality. I don't terribly mind bad graphics (or any in some cases) and the like provided the story (or game mechanics in a couple of games) has a backing to keep me there.

I honestly still can't believe how many things this comic combines that I enjoy...transformation...pokemon...the conflicts associated with transformation. It's incredible. And the tone of the comic speaks wonders... Not exactly brimming with idealism, but not really darker than black. It's some median that I tend to enjoy.

It's tone reminds me of the book trilogy 'Silverwing'...And in fact the comic is /a lot/ like the said book trilogy. There are always 2 or more main characters that deserve attention in the books, often switching between them and leaving you hanging.

...And at the same time there are parts (I.E. the parts with the other professor whom I don't care nearly as much about, but read the sections anyway because I enjoy the comic and don't want to have details lacking from missing something by not reading them)...also much like the said books. It's not at all surprising that I really like this web comic as a result of all of this, given those books are my favorite of all time up to this point.

The last book chronically in the series is 'Firewing', which also happens to be my favorite, for the record...

I just wish deviantart had a way to send me emails when I get updates from those I'm watching...
